Jen and Dave meet in the cafeteria...

...�Sean, what color is your hair today? Let me guess, Mango Melody? Or was that last week?� Jen asked, but before Sean could answer, Jen heard the painfully familiar voice of Dave Welch behind her. �Hey, Jen. See you�re hangin� with the �beautiful people� again,� he said sarcastically. She flinched as he used both hands to ruffle her blonde hair. Smacking his hands away, she didn�t bother to look over her shoulder as she pushed her blonde hair neatly behind her ears. Jen continued to stare straight ahead, her blue eyes refusing to acknowledge his presence. �What�s the problem, Jen? Aren�t you happy to see me?� �I�m never happy to see you.� Dave had been aggravating her on a more regular basis since being ousted from his regular clique. Jen had heard through the grapevine that though Dave had been offered a football scholarship, he had to boost his grades dramatically to make the cut. As a result, his pals found a new minion to do their evil deeds. Unfortunately, this meant that Dave had even more time on his hands to drive Jen crazy. Carrie leapt to defend Jen. �I think Jen has made it pretty clear she�s sick of your sarcasm. So how �bout you just leave!� Carrie eyed him angrily. Observing Carrie from behind Jen, Dave shrugged. �Well, if you insist. I�m due at the next nerd table anyway. Try not to miss me too terribly.� Before departing, he moved a step closer to Jen then lightly kissed the tips of his fingers in mock gentility before pressing them to the top of her head. Dave then strolled casually away to another table. Trying to forget the intrusion, Jen and the group returned to their discussion about the upcoming prom.
